We are seeking a Psychiatrist who thrives in a collaborative, team-based environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate psychiatric care.
Position Overview
The Psychiatrist plays a vital clinical leadership role at SLOW and works under the supervision of the CEO. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety, stabilization, and psychiatric well-being of clients throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans
Prescribe, administer, and monitor psychotropic medications
Provide ongoing psychiatric care for clients with a range of mental health disorders
Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches to support symptom management and recovery
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure coordinated, holistic care
Provide crisis intervention and psychiatric support during acute episodes
Support clients with developmental disabilities and other special needs
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation
Communicate effectively with clinical staff using appropriate medical terminology
Clinical Expertise & Skills
Proficient in diagnosing and treating conditions including:
PTSD
Anxiety disorders
Mood disorders
Psychotic disorders
Strong skills in crisis management and stabilization
Experience developing treatment plans tailored to individual client needs
Knowledge of evidence-based psychiatric practices and therapies
Ability to function effectively in fast-paced, treatment-focused environments
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine
Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist
Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Georgia (required)
Post-residency experience in psychiatry
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs preferred
Experience in hospital or behavioral health treatment settings preferred
Strong understanding of documentation standards and regulatory compliance
Current CPR certification
Clear background check (no felony or substance abuse convictions within the past five years)
