Hidden Creek Recovery & Retreat (HCRR), LLC is an evidence-based, client-centered adolescent residential treatment program. We are seeking a Cook who thrives in a collaborative, team-based environment and understands the importance of nutrition, consistency, and care in a residential treatment setting.
Position Overview
The Cook is a vital member of the Hidden Creek Recovery & Retreat System of Care. Under the supervision of the Head Chef, the Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for adolescent clients, ensuring meals are served on schedule, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and dietary standards. This role also includes menu planning and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Service
Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and dietary guidelines
Accommodate meal modifications and dietary restrictions based on individual client needs
Ensure breakfast items are prepared and stocked daily
Utilize batch scratch cooking techniques to support quality and nutrition
Compliance & Safety
Follow all Board of Health requirements and State of Georgia guidelines
Obtain and maintain Certified Food Handler status
Ensure all menus are approved and signed by the location dietitian
Monitor and document food, refrigerator, and freezer temperatures in log books
Maintain proper time and temperature controls during food preparation and storage
Ensure refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas are clean, organized, and free of expired items
Secure all food inventory in designated locked storage areas
Clean and sanitize kitchen areas and equipment daily
Operations & Professional Standards
Create, update, and post weekly menus for clients
Order food and kitchen supplies as needed
Practice appropriate ethics and professional boundaries with clients
Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or safety incidents immediately
Wear slip-resistant, closed-toe shoes at all times
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of culinary techniques, nutrition, and diet therapy
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and waste control
Experience working with commercial kitchen equipment
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
Commitment to quality, consistency, and teamwork
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Minimum of 2 years of culinary experience
Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain)
