We are seeking an Intake Coordinator who is administratively and clinically strong, creative in their approach, and motivated to grow professionally while working with acute adult clients in a residential setting.
Position Overview
The Intake Specialist is responsible for training, scheduling and they are required to be on call to answer questions regarding program admissions, providing initial approval on all admits both financially and clinically. Intake Specialist works with the marketing team to provide placement for all clients not being admitted and needing detox. Oversees the pre-intake process to ensure all clients get the care and attention they need. The Intake Specialist reviews all initial telephone screening of potential clients and referents. They must have the ability to evaluate clients with mental health disorders as well as substance abuse issues, and make appropriate recommendations for placement and level of care.Key Responsibilities
- Reviews all initial telephone screening of potential clients and referrals to ensure the clients meet admission criteria.
- Alerts clinical and other staff to any special problems or issues that may affect treatment.
- Takes phone calls of inquiry and effectively answers questions about the treatment program.
- Completes admissions process efficiently and accurately, reviewing documents with the client so they are aware of their rights and responsibilities and the nature of the various consents and releases that are being signed.
- Provide referrals for individuals who are not eligible for the program.
- Provide tours for prospective clients and their families.
- Notes client care and environmental issues and communicates with appropriate staff.
- Arranges for obtaining outside medical records in a timely, efficient manner.
- Maintains client files.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field
At least four years of admissions or assessment of clients in a chemical dependency treatment setting, supervisory experience preferred
CPI and CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
