Our program was created with a focus on compassionate, personalized treatment in a smaller, relationship-driven environment. At SLOW Academy, nurses are not simply completing tasks—they are a vital part of the recovery process and play an active role in helping clients achieve medical stability and meaningful progress.
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our day shift team and provide exceptional nursing care within our specialized eating disorder treatment program.

Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive medical and psychiatric nursing care for clients receiving treatment at SLOW Academy.
The RN is responsible for assessing medical needs, monitoring physical stability, administering medications, supporting nutritional rehabilitation, identifying changes in condition, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
This is an active clinical nursing role requiring strong assessment skills, compassion, flexibility, and the ability to provide both medical support and emotional reassurance to clients navigating recovery.
Responsibilities
- Perform admission nursing assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations
- Monitor vital signs, weights, nutritional intake, hydration, and medical status
- Identify changes in client condition and communicate concerns promptly
- Monitor for complications related to malnutrition and refeeding syndrome
- Review labs and collaborate with medical providers regarding treatment needs
- Administer medications and monitor effectiveness and side effects
- Support structured meals and eating disorder recovery programming
- Provide nursing interventions and support during challenging moments
- Monitor eating disorder behaviors and safety concerns
- Educate clients regarding medications, health risks, and wellness goals
- Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary meetings
- Collaborate with:
- Medical providers
- Therapists
- Dietitians
- Behavioral health staff
- Respond appropriately to medical and psychiatric emergencies
- Complete accurate documentation within KIPU EMR
- Maintain a safe, supportive, trauma-informed environment
Qualifications
Required:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Georgia or compact state)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Minimum 1 year nursing experience
Preferred:
- Eating disorder treatment experience
- Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience
- Acute care, ICU, ER, or medical stabilization background
- BSN
- CPI certification
