We are seeking a clinically skilled and adaptable Group Therapist (Floater) to support our Adult Residential Program. This role works with high-acuity clients presenting with complex mood, thought, and personality disorders and requires strong group facilitation and crisis intervention skills.
Position Overview
The Group Therapist will provide structured group therapy, individual sessions, and family sessions as clinically indicated. This position requires strong clinical judgment, initiative, and the ability to respond effectively in crisis situations within a residential treatment environment.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate daily psychoeducational and process-oriented group therapy sessions
Conduct individual and family therapy as clinically appropriate
Assess client needs and determine appropriate therapeutic interventions
Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
Monitor and document client behavior and treatment progress
Report significant incidents to the Clinical Director and leadership team
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team members
Uphold the mission, vision, and clinical standards of the organization
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field
Licensed or license-eligible in Georgia (LPC, LAPC, LMSW, LCSW)
Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health and/or substance use treatment
At least 1 year of group therapy facilitation experience
Experience working with high-acuity populations preferred
Strong crisis management skills
CPI and CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)
